Frequently Asked Questions

How I Draw

What Program do you Use?

Clip Studio Paint PRO (version 3.x) !
If you’re looking to buy it, wait till it goes on sale (it often goes 50% off several times a year), and buy whichever perpetual license is currently available (at the time of writing this, it’s 3.0). You don’t need the subscription, as it's functionally just early access to new features that will be available in the next full release (which you can upgrade to at reduced price if you own the previous release)
However, if you’re looking for a free or entry level program to start making digital art, I recommend Medibang! I enjoyed it for many years before switching to CSP. If you want something that can handle some light frame-by-frame animation along with illustrations, I recommend FireAlpaca

What Brushes do you Use?

"Crunchy" Art:

Bonus tip: you can use almost any brush for this crunchy pixelated style by just setting the layer expression color to monochrome! (you can find the setting in the layer property window) It forces it to display as either full black or nothing (and you can change the color from black by changing the layer color, or putting a clipping layer over it).

Sketches:

Painting:

I use a lot of different brushes depending on what I'm painting, but these are my go-to's

What Fonts do you Use in your Comics?

I use mostly:

As an aside, BlamBot has many high-quality fonts available for free use for non-profit and indie comic creators (see their limited free-use license info here). I seriously recommend checking them out!

Why do you Use Comic Sans?

Funny :)
More seriously, comic sans is actually a very solid font, which is easier to read for many people with dyslexia, and remains readable even at small scales. Most fonts don't read as clearly when at small scales with no anti-aliasing. I've tried many comic-intended fonts, and none are as readable as comic sans in my low-res. So, comic sans!

Requests & Commissions

Do you Take Requests?

On tumblr, yes! But it's not guaranteed that I'll draw them. It's nothing personal, I just treat them more as suggestions, and if it doesn't hook me I won't draw it. That means that functionally, I really only do requests for fandoms I'm familiar with, and my OCs. But you're always welcome to send them in! (as long as you're polite and not trying to demand anything lol)
Though, please send them to my tumblr askbox, not my DMs

Can you Draw (incredibly specific illustration of [thing you're not familiar with])?

Not unless you pay me.

Do you Take Commissions?

I post on tumblr whenever I open slots, but I open them very rarely. The rest of the time, I take commissions on a case-by-case basis.
This means that, even if I don't have slots open, you're welcome to DM me to inquire about getting a commission, and we can discuss 1) if I'm able to accept it at this time, and 2) what the price would be.
I'll draw most anything if the price is right, and you can expect that for case-by-case commissions, the bare minimum I'd quote you is probably around 40$USD for something very simple.

Use Your Art as Icons?

Any fanart I draw is ok to use for icons on social media (bsky, tumblr, discord, etc) with credit! However, please do not publically post icons for others to use made with my art, and please do not use art of my OCs as icons.

Use Your Art in Fancams/Edits?

Yes, my fanart is okay to use in fancams/edits so long as you are not earning money from it, it is not intended as promotional material or for advertising, and you credit me either on screen, or in the description in a way that it is clear which pieces used in the edit are created by me (assuming that you are using art from multiple artists).
Please do not use art of my OCs in fancams/edits, unless you are specifically creating a fancam/edit of my OC. In which case, please please please show me- I would go absolutely bonkers in excitement.

Create Dubs/Voiceovers of Your Comics?

Yes! That'd be awesome! Please show me if you do! Just credit me as the creator of the comic.

Trace Your Art?

So long as it's only for practice/study, and you do not post it publically (sharing privately in friend-only chat groups and the like is ok), this is totally ok! I'm always in support of tracing for practice reasons, as it's a super helpful way to learn! Just be respectful, and don't go around claiming it as solely your own, or posting it publically on social media/etc.

Print Your Art for Personal Use?

Yep! I'm totally fine with people creating one-off physical items using my art, so long as you're not earning any money from it, or using it for promotional reasons. Printing it to hang on the wall, or custom ordering a shirt with my art on it to give to a friend, or any other similar situation where you are making incredibly limited amounts of the item for no profit (or other gains) is just fine!

Etc

What Fandoms are you In?

You can find a list of all shows/games/manga/etc I'm familiar with on my media page!

Why Haven't you Answered my Ask?

I am very slow and forgetful. I'll get to it. Eventually

Can You CW/TW Tag [x]?

I try my best to remember common trigger tags and things like flashing, and I'm happy to retroactively add tags to posts. That said I can't promise to always tag specific content when I post it, because I genuinely just can't remember all the time.
You can read more about this on my warning page

What Does "Proshipper" Mean in your Bio/Pinned/Warning Page?

"Proship" is a fandom community term which means, simply, that you are in support of people shipping characters in any way they want.
In more detail, it means that you don't think people should be harassed for their ships, even if the relationship would be harmful, illegal, or otherwise dangerous were it to exist in real life. That includes incest, child x adult, abusive relationships, and many other topics.
Someone being proship does not mean that they are in support of any of these things happening in real life, or that they themselves want to be involved with these things in real life. Someone being proship also doesn't mean that they necessarily enjoy engaging with media of all of these things, and what themes someone actually enjoys engaging with varies from person to person.
Being proship just means that you acknowledge people can make things that make you uncomfortable, and that doesn't mean they're a bad person. You don't have to engage with these things yourself, and most proshippers actually encourage people blocking them if their works make you uncomfortable.
